Day 10 - Everything Tastes and Smells Like Covid 19

It’s not been a great day. I went to bed with a fever last night, and woke up with a fever this morning. I had very little energy – going downstairs to get a drink was a monumental task. My stomach is completely messed up. I have diarreah and no appetite at all. I sleep a lot.

I woke up again around 4pm this afternoon and it appears my fever is gone – so that is a positive note. I did manage to eat a bit of dinner, but I don’t know how long it will stay in me. I also managed to take a shower this evening, so at least I don’t smell – at least no more than usual. I’m hoping maybe this is a turning point for the better.

I will say – everything tastes and smells like Covid. I can’t explain it, but there is this strange alien taste in my mouth and nose. Eating or drinking cuts through it for a while, but then it comes back. It’s horrible. My daughter said a few days ago that she could still ‘taste Covid’ sometimes. I had no idea what she meant at the time, but now I do.

I plan to keep up the paracetamol and go to bed soon. I hope I gain some strength back tomorrow. I’m getting really tired of this now.
