Day 9 - Setbacks

It’s official, I’m having the dreaded 2nd response to Covid 19. Yesterday I felt washed out, more so than usual. By the time I went to bed last night, I was registering a slight fever. I woke up at 4am and my fever was almost 39 and my oxygen levels had dipped to 96. My heart was also racing and my heart rate was registering high on my oximeter. I fell back asleep and felt much the same when I woke again at 7.30am.

I have not had a fever until this point, so it’s obvious Covid is really trying to dig in. I did manage to get in touch with my GP today who put my mind at ease. He said the next 24-48 hours will be important and that I should stay as hydrated as possible. As he suggested, I’m keeping on top of the fever with paracetamol and it’s helped my heart rate to drop back to more normal levels. He said as long as my O2 levels stay above 95, then all is good. He did say if they dip to 92 or below, then it’s time to go to hospital. I hope I don’t get there.

I’ve done nothing but sleep and watch TV all day. I’m currently trying to get some dinner together my myself and the family. I do need to keep eating, although my appetite is non-existent. I’m really hoping I feel much better tomorrow.
