*** 21 February 2022 - "Living With Covid" ***

As of today, I will not be maintaining this website anymore. This is because the figures provided to the UK website will no longer be valid or correct. Consequently, there is no point in keeping up with the information.

After having Covid twice (yes, my entire family including myself had it last week) I can honestly say I do not understand why the government feels it is necessary to end mandatory quarantine or free testing. I can only pray and hope that moving forward there are no other stronger variants of Covid that have a high death rate - because if there is, we won't know about it until lots of people start dying.

What people fail to understand is that Covid has - and always had - a much higher infection rate than flu or colds. Covid 2 years ago had an infection rate of 2.5 to 3 - that meant that each person with Covid would pass it on to 2 to 3 people. Scientists thought Omicron had an infection rate of 4 to 5. Common flu has an infection rate of 1.3. That means the transmissability of Covid is more than doulbe that of flu, and more than 4x more transmissible with the Omicron varient. Until Covid becomes more like the flu it will have the potential to cause major loss of life as well as long-term effects for those who recover.

Thanks to everyone who has followed my web site for the past two years, and who struggled through the first round of Covid with me. I wish you all nothing but the best and a wonderful, Covid-free life.

I'm going to leave links and some of my data....
